Hiroshima 12 Nov 2010

Yesterday I woke up early to go to the Mazda Museum: I had to take a "streetcar" and then the train. It' just outside the city. There were a lot of people, I did not think of it. And I was impressed by the plant: very huge, 7km along the river, with a private port, a college, a temple, a stadium, and one of the biggest private bridges of the world...
We saw the assembly line: even if it is a clean and comfortable ambient (compared to other kind of workshops) I would really not like to do a job like that...You must be quick because You have about one minute to finish Your job in that car, and then it's the turn of the next one...and like this for 8hours, with 10 minutes break each 2h...
After that, I went to the Hiroshima City Transportation Museum: more than 2000 models of every kind of vehicles. Ships, trains, helicopters, cars, airplanes, motorbikes, etc...
It was very funny because I was entering a Japanese museum, I thought to find something typical...while the really first thing I saw when entering was this:

I started laughing: but this is the Aprilia RSV! why???
I asked why, after 24000km, I enter a Museum of Transportation Means in Japan, and the first thing I see is a (wonderful) motorbike, made 30km from my house in Italy!
I really could not understand...
They told me that it's the Hiroshima Team for the Suzuka 8hrs! ok, I see...

I looked so many models of ships, trains, airplanes, cars: I could not read all the labels, but at least the italians...and...what do I see???
unbelievable...look with Your eyes...

I immediately called the assistants (there were so many people working as guards, assistants, etc..., much more than the visitors...) and told them about the mistake! They wrote it down, and said thanks to me...
I always find typing or translation errors, everywhere, but I could not ignore this...

After the museum, I went back to Hiroshima center witrh the AstramLine, a train running over the city: they made a rail "track" (the train runs on tyres...) supported by concrete pillars, running over the streets:

Arrived in Hiroshima, I assisted to the candlelight opening ceremony of the Peace Summit Weekend,
where the Peace Nobel Prize Laureates spoke, asking for a world without nuclear bombs

BAN NUKES!
Then I finished the evening with Marco, incredibly met at the ceremony,
after one month from our separation, in Seoul!
